Leon Russell dead at 74

can you find a video or just the song "Home Sweet Oklahoma" and post it..... he played it the first time I saw him, with edgar winter, but he never played it the 15 times I saw him after that! I would appreciate it if you could find it. always one of my favorite Leon songs! reminded me of home!

Rest In Peace Leon Russell, Memory Eternal

I believe it was the 70's the first time I saw Leon Russell and
I think his band was called the Shelter People, I may be wrong.
My all time favorite song was "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall".
I also saw him at Poor David's Pub in Dallas several years ago.

I'm bout halfway through the Homewood Session vid. Great stuff. Thanks again FtLav !

All too young to remember, Mazeppa was a local Tulsa TV Saturday night "late-show" for us pre-teens & beyond. Leon made a rare cameo once or twice that I recall and remember him playing Home Sweet Oklahoma and Youngblood/Roll away the stone during breaks in the silly movies we where given.

Although he was born in Lawton he went to Will Rogers HS inTulsa (a Sosh) & will always be near & dear to Tulsans

Leon was an inspiration. I never saw him live, which is a rare thing for me. I saw over 2,000 shows from the late 80's to 1999. I listened to him often growing up, and have always been impressed by his ability to just play. He will be greatly missed.

The most memorable occasion attending a Mister Russell gig was in nineteen and seventy one at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, with Freddy King also performing, the herbal essence so thick and pungent I'm surprised yall didn't smell it out yonder.

I was fortunate to catch him in Houston. Actually Spring, TX at the Old Spring Cafe back in '84. Very nice setting. Small outdoor venue. He packed the house and did not disappoint. Thanks for the good music and RIP.
