My youngest turned 21 yesterday and took advantage of his majority to head down south to Gainesville to pick up some Texas beer and then hit Windstar.
He did very well for himself winning $800 on his birthday. One of his buds from Grapevine hit on a $2,000 jackpot. Pretty nice day...
He had 10 of his best buds up from the DFW area and they hit the casino and stayed at the casino hotel. Many beers were downed and they had a great time.
Anyway he’s been telling me for a couple of months that Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat was a terrific beer and I should try it. Today he pulls into the driveway around 1:30 just after I had mowed the yard and he drags the remains of several cases of beer in the cooler into the garage.
Low and behold there’s a few of those Leinenkugel’s in the bottom my cooler (that he took down to Windstar) ice cold staring me in the face.
I don’t normally drink beer after working in the heat but it was calling my name. That Leinenkugel was the best damn beer I’ve ever tasted. It was as refreshing as drinking a frickin Gatorade.
Think I have a new favorite beer...
