It's a mildly trendy pick but has zero merit. Chalk it up to throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks.

It won't. Texas is at least a year away.

Sooners, Mountaineers, Wildcats, and maybe Iowa State or TCU if things get really weird.

what about Joey G picking baylor last year? shoulda been fired for the staggering stupidity of the prediction along with the resulting total loss of credibility that engendered with ANY AND ALL viewers who follow college football

It's always been this way and it ain't gonna change. When it comes to football it's
OU against the world. Personally, I like it that way. It's chalkboard material that the
coaches can use to fire'em up. But seriously UT, give me a break. If UT had last
years D-line and this years offense they have a chance. But they don't and OU
shouldn't have any trouble running it down their throat.

Seems like the anti OU antics continue at ESPN. Those ham heads always waffle week to week. I have no respect for any chowder coming from those overpaid chumps.
From the same network the gave Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner an award for courage.
Evidently our definition of courage has changed from the days of Normandy and Iwo Jima.

Guys, it's the preseason and Texas is a school with a huge fan base and lots of money. It's a "cash cow" to predict them doing well in the preseason because it sells ratings, ink, and internet hits.

Texas is perennially "next year's champions" and will remain so until games are actually played. I'll believe the Horn hype when they actually manage to lose fewer than five games in a season--something that hasn't happened since ????

Let them have their fun now because there's absolutely no reason to believe it'll last past the first half of the season.

You can't even compare the two. Besides, ESPN wasn't around in 1944-45. ;)
