In her first two games as she attempts to beat the NCAA career record of 90 home runs (Lauren had 30, 30, and 12 in her first three years), Lauren has hit three home runs and is only 16 away from a record 91. She missed almost half the season last year with an injury.

In her first nine at bats this year, Lauren is three for four officially with three home runs and eight rbis.
She has been walked five times and has scored on four of those five.

Nicole is off to a good start. I think she is hitting 363 after three games with a double and stolen base. Did commit an error. But, she already has two outfield assists, one of which helped her sister. The nearest that anyone came to scoring on Shelby was when the Hawaii first baseman hit a long drive that actually cleared the fence in right center. Nicole jumped up with her glove back over the fence a bit, caught the ball, but had it fall out of her glove as it hit the fence. She picked it up and threw the runner out at second. She was in her home run trot and got trapped between first and second. Nicole can run.

Kady Self is four for six thus far (667) with a double that broke the Hawaii game open. It hit off the right center wall. Paige Parker is hitting about 375 and pitched a one-hitter against St. Mary's.

The only runs scored against OU were on a two-run home run by DePaul against Kelsey Stevens. The hitter was POY of the conference last year and can hit. Pendley and Parker pitched shutouts against Hawaii and St. Marys.

Want to know the future of OU softball?

OU won the Rainbow Classic by beating Hawaii 8-0 in five.

Freshman contributions:

Paige Parker pitched a perfect game, striking out nine of fifteen hitters she faced.
Nicole Pendley, cener-fielder and younger sister of Shelby, hit two home runs for five rbis.
Kelsey Arnold drove in the winning run.
Lea Wodach hit a home run to left to drive in the seventh run.

Macey Hatfield is in the class, but she reported for Spring semester last year. Thus, she's a sophomore in eligibility. She had a hit that put the winning run on third. She also hit a home run yesterday.

Anyone know any details about the Georgia Casey injury. Hasn't played the past couple games after getting spiked.

Limited knowledge from reading multiple boards: it's a thumb injury, and they are letting the swelling go down before evaluation. Early indications is that it isn't serious. I am not stating this as fact, but as consensus of what I have read.
