Kyler Murray injury?

“Kyler, when he slid in to steal second he felt a little twinge,” Johnson said. “Our team doctor said there wasn’t any bruising and there wasn’t a knot built up. It’s probably really moderate. We’ll go day-to-day until tomorrow. So we’ll take it day-to-day.”

Just my opinion, but if I'm the coach at a big time football factory, I would recruit my players to play one sport only.
Murray's absence....or diminished playing time....this season would most likely be hard felt.

Turning down multi skilled athletes who play more than one sport is a dumb idea.
Riley knows better. These type of athletes can play more than one position. Only
a few ever try to play the other sport. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

Bo knows & Primetime says hello.

The kid is good for OU. There's no reason to be sport selfish. The coaches know this. His sliding into 2nd base is nothing compared to the damage that can be done on a football field.

"Sport selfish"....that's a new one.....and who's debating that football is more dangerous than baseball ?
OU is a preseason top ten team this year and it's not based on Austin Kendall starting at quarterback, however good he may be. And imagine what the depth chart at QB would look like minus Murray.

Post #6 pretty much defines Sport Selfishness and posts #1 & #2 pretty much discusses his injury and how.

It's all there. Go back and read it.

With regards to depth, I imagine this is exactly why Kyler is on the team now. The depth chart needed him. I imagine something like this went down due to depth needs...

Kyler: Coach, I'd like to transfer to OU.

Coach: Kyler OU would love to have you as well. You know we sure could use you. Baker won't be around forever.

Kyler: Coach, baseball is very important to me. I have an opportunity to further my life and career through baseball. If I come to OU can I play baseball too?

Coach: Kyler, playing a dual sport won't be easy but I have no problem with it. Have you spoke w/ Coach Galloway yet?

Kyler: Yes. Coach Galloway is excited but suggested I visit with you.

Coach: I'll visit with him and get the details worked out.

Bob brought him in, right ? (not that it makes a difference)

Yes. It was in Dec 2015. Bascially it was a QB flip between Kyler & Trevor. Kyler set out the 2016 season due to the transfer. As a reminder why he was accepted to play for the Sooners.... Kyler was ranked as the #1 Dual Threat QB by ESPN & #5 QB overall by Rivals. This was a major get for OU even if he had to sit for a year and even if he wanted to play baseball. Kyler had great leverage during this time frame and could have selected many different college teams to play for. We're lucky to have him and he was one of many players that desired to attend OU after Coach Riley showed up in Norman.
