Nice how that all worked out for OU. Amazing. You guys are BACK to the glory days of 1999 - 2004 before Texas took the big 12 back from 2004 - 2009.

Kyler will step in right the minute Baker leaves and OU will be a force for the next several years.

GO BIG 12 and crush those Tigers!!!

Thank for posting. But...

Texas? Really? During 2004 - 2009, Oklahoma was Big XII Champions in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Glad you posted that.....Now I can quit scratching my head trying to figure out why he thought Texas had such a good run........

You guys are right, I had no idea. I just knew Texas won the Rose in 2004, the national title in 2005, then the Fiesta again in 2008 and went to the title game in 2009. Just seemed they were the "it" team in that period, but I stand corrected to a degree. The issue is you guys lost the title in 2003 to Florida, then lost the Fiesta to Boise State (2007?), and then lost to Tebow/Urban Meyer in 2008. Granted you won the Big 12 more in that period, Texas did better in big bowl games.

Pardon me. I thought you said, "Texas took the big 12 back". I must have misread that.

That 2004 Horn team was 12-1, but OU shut them out in Dallas. And it would have been worse than 12-0 if we'd had replay back then. Their mike linebacker got credit for an interception on a ball that clearly bounced and he made a long return. We were inside their 30 going in. OUr defense had some challenges that year, but shut down a young Vince Young, later of superman status.

We lost OUr starting quarterback for idiocy in 2006, moved a receiver with great leadership skills back to quarterback and won the conference. Had a great group in 2007 and 08, but had to play the bowl games missing a bunch of key players in both for various reasons. WVU embarrassed us in the 2007 Fiesta, but they were undefeated with their quarterback healthy and were really good. Then we had to play Tebow's Florida team for the NC in their home state, playing a middle linebacker who was third team most of the year and who'd hardly ever played in a D1 game. And with Demarco Murray hurt and unable to play.

Who you got that day, makes a difference. In 2007, we beat MIzzou badly twice, when a CCG win would have put them in the NC game.
