K2C Or Fitty........

you are correct sir, front row seats in April. I'll bring back Roy's soon!

I used to run with some of the 70' and early 80's Tulsa musician backstage scene. What I'm trying to say is I knew some of the money people behind people like David Gates, Leon and Gus Hardin(the best female singer since Tanya Tucker). I really loved Becky Hobbs, another fox. I once borrowed Sam Kinison's Mercedes for my daughters high school homecoming.

Just to clarify, I was not on first name basis with any of the stars. Well, maybe Becky, but don't tell her husband..........HA.

Becky Hobbs...enjoy.

KC - I have been friends with Becky since early high school. I'm also friends with all the band members of the Four Faces of Eve. Becky was the guitar player and lead singer. I was in a band that toured California in 1969 and crossed paths with Becky on several occasions. We used the same booking agent in Hollywood, Gayle McConky. She recently sent me her new music on CD.

I hope you know I was joking about the husband thingy. In fact, as I remember her lead quiitar player was her boyfriend? She was under rated at the time. Great on the piano.

One other funny story if you ever talk to her, ask her if she remembers this.
She played at the KVOO picnic at the fair grounds in Tulsa. She was signing autographs and when it came my turn I asked for her mothers autograph (she was sitting next to her) The mother let out a hoot and asked why in the world I wanted hers. It was simple, I'll be the only guy that has the mother and daughters signed program. LOL. They both got a kick out of it, but before I new it her mother was signing all the people behind me. So much for a one of a kind.

Here's another video............

Yo, K2C, you mentioned the KVOO picnic...
Did you get to see Jr. Brown when he was featured at that shindig one year?

He's got a very unique act.

Rumored to be the love child of Ernest Tubb and Jimi Hendrix.

No. I used to go every year. I have a ton of ticket stubs (some signed) in the basement. One day I need to go through all of them. My wife is kin to Billy Parker, famous HOF DJ, played with Ernest Tubb, second cousin.

KC - I think she married a producer in Nashville if I'm not mistaken. Can't say of she is still married to him. She used to have straight long blonde hair and wore the hippie type mini dresses. She is a good musician on strings an keys. When we toured California it was before her C&W days. I'm still close friends with the Morrison sisters that were in the all girls band. All of them are still consummate musicians.

Okay, now I got another question on the all-girl band. There was an all-girl band formed in Tulsa in the 70's. I think it was formed by channel 6 (Absolute0?). The drummer went to Catoosa, but moved off and I can't remember her name. I do know they had a family diner around 4th and Sheridan.

So my question, was Becky in that group? BTW, I knew about Becky's rock years before you posted it. I really think she went into country because of the Urban Cowboy craze. She got in when Reba and Roseanne Cash started dominating. Bad timing.

Gus Hardin was a well known blues singer in the local lounge act before she was discovered and went country.

Speaking of Junior Brown, I think I've watch his "Better Call Saul" video at least two hundred times. The set "props" are gorgeous. Yet, I've watched the program zero times.
