It looks like the game talk has slowed down a bit. This thread is to revive it......
I watched the Western Kentucky vs. South Florida game today, very good game BTW, and noticed several good blocks by the wide receivers on both teams. It reminded me of something I haven't seen mentioned so far in team breakdowns. We have an extremely great blocking game by our current receivers. I'm not so sure Baxter is not our best and that's why he starts. So important for the down field game.
Does Clemson run a fast tempo offense? I haven't heard. I really think OU needs to turn it up. I've read and heard where Clemson doesn't have the defensive depth we have. Charles Walker is our best DT (IMO) and he doesn't even start. Let's wear them down.
I've read how good the Clemson DB's are, most of them in the six foot plus range. This sounds like the perfect set up for Sterling. He owns the big DB's.
Watson seems to be very accurate on his throws, but his running scares me most. Do we spy him? Do we open up protecting against the run or pull back for the passing game?
Last, but not least, I sure hope we show SOME different looks on offense that Brent V hasn't prepared for. I personally think V knew exactly what we would do last year and that's why they were so successful. I hope we have some wrinkles figured in this year.
Thoughts?
