July 1st Festivities at OU official Entry into the SEC

I wont be there, but I sure hope its televised or at least filmed. I'd love to see it!!
I am guessing it will be, ESPN will be there, Finebaum and Dusty Dvoracek as well as many others I am sure. I think the SEC is gonna make sure its a big deal for exposure for the Conference. Finebaum said as much the other day saying that this is a huge occasion, way way bigger than the previous 2 times the league expanded, Arkie and S. Carolina in the 90's and Aggie and Missouri about a decade or so ago (duh).
May be able to tell a little more about it Sunday as I believe the Horns are doing theirs then, followed by OU on Monday.

I'd be in Norman tonight if tomorrow wasn't such an important work day. We've all been waiting for this moment for 4 years now. I'm very excited.

A side note about OU's opener against Temple on Friday, August 30th. Toby Rowland will not be doing his morning radio program on KREF. The guy filling in for him? Joe Castiglione. That's going to be awesome.

No more Big 8, Southwest Conference, quality network TV shows, Plymouth Barracuda, Houston Oilers and 99¢ Orin’s cheese pizza.

I'm very impressed with all the quality posts the SEC has made on social media (especially Facebook). I've seen more fan-oriented official posts out of the SEC in two days than I saw in the past five years out of the Big 12 office. The Big 12 is asleep.

And fan interaction between schools is unbelievable. So much banter (good and bad) going on. The volume of posts are amazing. I don't see much, if any, of this going on between Big 12 schools. So glad we're in the SEC now.

Texas has been getting clowned big time all week. They deserve it.

Heard Joe C say yesterday that every coach at OU they talked to was excited about the move to the SEC. He said the ones that were not are not here anymore. 😁
This is in fact what he said. It's how he said it and the facial expression that make Joe C. Joe C. Cracks me up thinking about it again.

BTW, rumor (wink) is Joe C. ran the 5K the night before and had basically been living at the stadium thru the weekend. The welcome party at the stadium last night was decent. Drone show was pretty cool. Once it cooled off, the ending crowd covered the entire field plus some of the lower bowl. The SEC Commissioner was there. He'll be on scene for the Aug. 30th game.
