Josh Heupel new Tennessee head coach

“Yeah, you can’t touch this. Too hype, can’t touch this”. MC Hammer says “hi”.

Watch it, Josh. Good that Fulmer is no longer and Danny White is still with you. Big job to please the Vols base. Good luck!

Wish him well...he has his work cut out for him with losing some big parts of his team returning in 2021.
Agree.
Tennessee is a team I would like to see be a top ten team. Heupel’s work at UFC makes me believe he possibly can make it happen, but Tennessee fans need patience....again.

I hope he can survive the NCAA penalties that will come along with the player transfers.

A number of Vol fans on their board are underwhelmed with this hire. They pointed out that Heupel’s W-L records got progressively worse every year he was at UCF. Which is true.

It does not sound like the fans of the Vols completely understand yet what has happened to their program. They are years away at this point to recover. The NCAA punishment will not be as a SMU death blow, but with the portal available now, everyone that was good is leaving, and the scholarships will eventually be trimmed. They have a long wait for the return. Heupel will guide them for awhile. He's in a great spot really. No one is expecting him to win. So if he surprises every once in awhile, the fans will grow to love him.

There's been talk over the years that the "death penalty" that SMU was given in the late 1980's will never happen again, mainly because it's too severe and the fallout from it was....and is....felt for many decades. SMU has been rendered irrelevant since then and I am not sure there's any end in sight.
Tennessee hired a good coach in Heupel and I wish him success. At Tennessee, he has the resources, but competing in the shadows of Alabama, Georgia, LSU., Florida and ATM will be challenging, aside from the NCAA penalties.
Heupel is, to me, an iconic figure in OU's history having been such a huge part in OU's resurgence following the dismal decade of the 1990's. We should all wish him well.
And for the record, Heupel's record at UCF was 28-7 over his three years.

Right now, the only game that’s scheduled with them is @ Knoxville in ‘24. We’re slated to start a set with Michigan in ‘25 (@ Ann Arbor in ‘26).

I believe we play Tennessee in a home and home again in 24/25. Josh may be dressed in What-a-Burger Orange on the opposite sidelines.
Josh wins it'll be dream sickle orange. He's gotta wear the checkered pants though. " Dream sickle Josh". Imo. 😁
