Will we finally get to see Frank Shannon or will it be a fast improving Tay Evans?

BTW, Bonds should be back to full strength. JEvans injury info came from the Stoops presser.

I'm confident we'll get to see Shannon get back up to snuff. He had his breakout game against Texas Tech a couple seasons ago, and while Evans has played pretty well, it is my opinion that Frank is better.

I was impressed with Lindley, but not surprised. Lindley is a thumper that I would have loved to see at MLB for a while now.

If we continue to rotate the line with guys like Overton, Obo and Ward, I think we're going to see continued success for the entire defense. The depth and talent on defense is to good for these mid season collapses we continue to experience. Let these boys play. Trust them to cover. Trust them to get to the quarterback. Don't make them play on their heels.

I was surprised to hear this, but Frank was the leading tackler vs. KSU. He had 4 tackles.

I guess that happens when you hold a team to 110 total yards and 3 INTs.

My stat of the game was 4 total penalties for the game. Combined. 3 were against OU.

He's not an LB but, throwing some props to Will Johnson.

He gave a good accounting at DB.

I said during the game thread....Where the heck has this Will Johnson been all year. If he wasn't actually making the play, he was right in position to finish it. Playing him at nickel frees Parker to move back to safety.

BTW, plaino or other coach types, did I see a 3-5-3 on several plays last week? One of the five seemed to wait on the KSU Q-B to run (usually a delayed run) and smashed him at the line. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Anyways, give us the scoop on that defensive set and will we see it against the big time passing teams coming up.......

I noticed we had 4 bigs on the LOS scrimmage but only when we had the the 2s and 3s in. Other than that, it seemed like we stuck with the 3-4 and 3-3-5 with the regular rotators.

When I say 3-5-3 it could be the 3-3-5 with a couple moving up to make it so. I wish I could find a picture of what I'm talking about..I'll look.

Yep, you're right, it's a version of the 3-3-5 that can become the 3-5-3 with movement from the DB's. I won't link the site I read it on. I still say I have never seen the second level of 5 stay in that formation until KSU snapped the ball.

I know we were certainly playing closer to the LOS with only A. Thomas playing center field. If K-State didn't have a slot receiver in play we had 8 in the box....which is what we should've been doing LAST WEEK!!!!

We certainly played to our strengths and dared K-State to throw the ball.

Ah man, sorry to hear about Evans' knee. Hope it's not serious and he's back on the field soon. But, I gotta say that I'm really excited for Shannon and cannot wait to see him on the field vs. Tech. As someone pointed out earlier, he had a nice game vs. KSU, so I'm really looking forward to him taking out some lack-of-playing-time frustrations out on the Red Raiders!

Good to see Frank patrolling again...and getting Bond back is a bonus...although Lindley did well against Cats. He does look real athletic....Lindley kudos.
