Great to have Joe Jon back home. He’s one of my wife’s favorite TE. In fact, the TE is always my wife’s favorite player going all the way back to Stephen Alexander. Hey....what’s up with that???
Finley's from the Dallas area (Arlington) so he could be a recruiting plus in the state of Texas and especially in the talent-rich DFW area.

I never saw him drop a pass, but he may have, like every receiver.
I remember him making some big receptions as a backup TE, who was a team captain his senior year.
Finley was a good player for OU.
I don’t know for sure, but I doubt Joe Jon dropped more than 50 passes. He wasn’t a game changer but he had 50+ receptions and averaged about 12 yards a catch during his career. Check it out.

Finley caught 62 passes in his 4 years at OU, then went on to have a five year NFL career. His resume as a coach appears very good with stops at Missouri, Baylor, ATM and Ole Miss.
I like his achievements as a coach and his familiarity of recruiting in Texas.
