Jay Norvell

What if the change doesn't work? What will they do next?
Novell gets Rice and Watson was Notre Dame. Novell better look good vs Rice. Watson get under the bus right now, the natives are restless.

I would guess itis Norvell's for the rest of the year. An interview of sortts. If he does well he probably has a new title. If he doesn't it's probably time to go shopping.

Jay Norvell knows zero about calling plays for and option or zone read offenses. His experience is with passing offenses and pro-style offenses. They might as well had the TE coach from Gilmer be the play caller or OC.

Saturday night, Texas had ten men on the field for five Special Teams snaps. Now changing the play caller after one bad game with their best quarterback unable to play.

What else will he have in common with John Blake? I mean besides being a great recruiter?

Shorthorns circling wagons but the wheels are all broken and their plum out of musket shells. Funny how there was so much hype about the shorthorns offense in camp, and how much Swoopes had turned things around...30% completion pct. and a 67 QB rating would speak differently. Or maybe that was also a sign in camp the shorthorns D was shaky. Rice beats them and there will be a mushroom cloud over that campus.

The one thing that concerns me about Norvell is maybe shying away from the zone read. Should be our bread and butter. He will definetly be an upgrade but just how much who knows.

I watched the replay of the Akron game and was shocked how bad OU's OL is currently. First 3 drives and zero yards vs. Akron? 100 yards rushing? It's not like the D was that impressive either considering OU was allowed to put 11 in a box to start the game because Akron is so limited.

Could be wrong but I just don't see OU beating an average Tennessee team.

Let's assume you're right about our rushing game. You do realize we have installed a quick hitting offensive scheme that will allow our offensive lineman to grow? They only need to hold back the DL for a few seconds before Mayfield finds his target. The running game will follow.

Now to your Q-B. It takes him a few seconds just to move his clob-hopper feet. Then he runs into your 5 star lineman trying to protect him.

It's really funny to watch....Re-watch your opening game and enjoy...LOL

You are right. Most OU fans have noticed our OL isn't very good right now. They better grow up fast this week cuz the DL they will face against Tennessee is going to be a bigger threat than they faced with Akron. I think the biggest hope is seeing Tennessee giving up a big number of yards through the air to BG, so if OU can keep Baker off his back long enough to get the passing game going then it should ease up pressure on the RBs. OUs offense was pretty brutal in the 1st half. But OU changing offensive scheme this season isn't really doing anything to help the OL grow. Either the OL can block or they can't, regardless if it's run blocking or protection. OU getting a passing game going is prolly going to fall more on Baker's ability to run to avoid the pressure and complete passes while on the move. If he can't, then it's gonna be a LONG day for OUs offense. Tennessee no doubt knows OUs OL is a huge weak point so they are going to attempt to exploit it all day long and put Baker in hurried or bad situations all day long. How Baker will handle that pressure is the key.

The horns are terrible. Like last in the NCAA in offense terrible. Norvell isn't going to be able to fix that level of suck. Cling to whatever moral victories you can Crazy. The horns are going to be setting records for suck this season.

Rice might be a winnable game for the horns. Keep your fingers crossed.

I bet the lucky coach is Watson in the end. Anyone think that Norvell really wanted to take over a mess like that.
A bunch of bloods have a solution. They just want to feed Gray the ball and Heard keep the ball and run with it.
Bomb is swearing they just need more of Charlie's recruiting classes. I think Bomb is a recruiting expert. Him and EJ Holland Are Twitter heads and bomb may just scoop EJ's twitters. They could be roommates or twins for all I know.
I would have called a bookie Saturday if I still had one. The horns looked beat before kickoff.
Norvell time to straitened up the mess.

Well its not that Coach Strong has many choices. The entire Mack Brown coaching staff is gone even they were better than this disaster in Austin. Norvell didnt exactly excel at Nebraska calling plays so I doubt thats the answer. Lord help them if they lose to Rice, and some of the experts are calling that. Strong isnt going to last long enough to turn it around and not sure if he can. Texas will be shopping for a coach by mid season if they arent already doing it now. The only nice thing about burnt orange....it looks good in the midst of flames.

You forgot the part where we scored 41 points, beat the point spread, and held them to a field goal. Good luck against Rice.
