The Ivy League has announced their council of university presidents will make a "final decision" on July 8 if fall sports will be played. Currently, the Ivy League is considering a 7-game conference-only football schedule or postponing the season until the spring.

The Ivy League does not generate nor rely on sports revenue as do many of the Power 5 Conference schools. Many of the Ivy League sportswriters said they would not be surprised if they decide to postpone the season. However, the decision by the Ivy League presidents could send shock waves through the NCAA and all of college football if they decide to postpone the season. Although the Power 5 schools are weighing their options, fast approaching is the time when decisions will be made to play the schedule as planned, shorten the season, postpone it until the spring or cancel the season altogether. The Power 5 schools will be watching to see what happens with the Ivy League and will take the Ivy League's decision into consideration when deciding what their conference will do.

My gut tells me there will be football in the fall, but everyone will play a shortened schedule.
