since OU and TX played football in a venue that was not the Cotton Bowl. In 1923 the Sooners traveled to Austin where they lost to the Longhorns. After that game, the series did not resume until the 2 teams met at the State Fair in 1929, where it has been played every year since. They have also never played twice in a year, or each other in a bowl game. This year could change at least one of those facts. If both teams remain undefeated the rest of the year they will play each other again in the Big XII championship game at Jerry Jones' ATT Stadium in December. Let us hope.
