Guys, I understand the head coach is ultimately held accountable when things don’t go well, but let’s not overlook the circumstances he’s working under. OU is reportedly giving him a budget of $17–21 million (as shared by Brandon Drumm), while programs like Georgia—and likely Oregon, Miami, Texas, and others—are working with budgets of $25 million or more. Essentially, he’s trying to recruit with one hand tied behind his back.
If he had the resources to secure every recruit he wanted, I’m sure he’d do it—but that just isn’t possible with the budget constraints OU has in place. I still believe in him, though I’ll admit my confidence is starting to waver. Given how unpredictable things are right now, I can’t thank @Brandon Drumm and @Parker Thune enough for the fantastic work they’ve done covering these turbulent times.
