GENERAL NOTES

• Oklahoma’s 66 points today were its most in a true road game since 2016 (won 66-59 at Texas Tech). The last time OU scored more points in a true road was in 1980 at Colorado (82-42).

• The Sooners have won 31 of their last 38 true road games going back to 2014, and have out-gained their opponent in 30 of their last 38 true road games.

• OU has scored at least 30 points in 39 of its last 43 true road contests. That figure leads all programs nationally over their last 43 true road games.

• The Sooners are now 21-7-1 all-time against Tulsa, 15-1 against the Golden Hurricane since 1943 and 8-3 against TU in Tulsa. OU has won the last 10 games in the series.

• Today was only the second game in program history in which three players compiled more than 100 receiving yards (Jalil Farooq [126], Nic Anderson [120] and Andrel Anthony [112]). The other occurrence was in 2012 vs. Oklahoma State (Jalen Saunders [162], Justin Brown [146], Kenny Stills [103]).

• Oklahoma registered 595 yards of total offense (476 passing, 119 rushing) and averaged 9.4 yards per play, 15.9 yards per completion and 4.3 yards per rush.

• The Sooners limited Tulsa to 92 total yards (81 passing, nine rushing) and three points in the second half. TU gained 292 total yards (217 passing, 75 rushing) and averaged 4.0 yards per play in the game.

• This is the second time this season Oklahoma limited its opponent to fewer than 100 rushing yards (allowed only 48 to Arkansas State in the season opener).

• This was OU’s first game with five interceptions since 2003 at Texas Tech. The five INTs were by sophomore DB Gentry Williams, junior LB Danny Stutsman (TD), junior DB Kendel Dolby [all in the first quarter], senior DB Key Lawrence and redshirt senior DL Trace Ford [both in the third quarter].

• OU registered three interceptions in the first quarter for the first time since the 2020 Cotton Bowl vs. Florida. • The Sooners have eight takeaways through three games and have a turnover margin of plus-6 on the season.

• Oklahoma’s 35 points were its most scored in the first half of a true road game since the 2020 season (led Texas Tech 48-14 at halftime in Lubbock).

• OU totaled 15 tackles for loss for the first time since the 2019 Big 12 Championship vs. Baylor (also 15). • Oklahoma scored on nine of their first 10 possessions today, and on nine of 11 possessions in the game.

• The Sooners scored on five of their six first-half possessions, and have scored on 13 of 18 first-half possessions through three games (11 touchdowns, two field goals).

• Eleven different receivers caught a pass for Oklahoma today. At least eight different receivers have caught a pass in each of OU’s first three contests (11 vs. Arkansas State and eight vs. SMU).

• Oklahoma is 3-0 for the 55th time in program history and the 19th time since 1999.


INDIVIDUAL NOTES
DL ADEPOJU ADEBAWORE

• Registered career highs of three tackles (two solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He entered the game with one tackle on the season.

WR NIC ANDERSON
• The redshirt freshman had a career day with three receptions for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
• Became the first OU freshman with three touchdown receptions in a single game.
• Scored his first career touchdown on a 28-yard reception in the second quarter, and followed with 42- and 50-yard TD receptions in the third quarter.
• Became just the second Sooner to score three touchdowns on exactly three receptions in a game. The other was Curtis Fagan vs. Baylor in 2000 (three receptions, 88 yards, three TDs).

WR ANDREL ANTHONY
• Caught four passes for 112 yards (28.0 yards per reception). It was his second career 100-yard receiving game and first at OU. • His 55-yard reception on OU’s first offensive possession was the Sooners’ longest scrimmage play of the season.

RB JOVANTAE BARNES
• Scored his first rushing touchdown of the season and the sixth of his career on a one-yard play in the third quarter. He led the Sooners with 70 yards on 13 rushes (5.2 yards per carry).

DB PEYTON BOWEN
• Made his first career start and finished with two tackles and two pass breakups.

DB KENDEL DOLBY
• Junior college transfer registered his first interception at OU on a play in the first quarter.

DL TRACE FORD
• Notched his first interception at OU and returned it 26 yards to the Tulsa 4 on a third-quarter play. • It was his second career interception. His first was in 2019 while at Oklahoma State.

WR JALIL FAROOQ
• Registered a career-high 126 yards and a touchdown on six receptions (21.0 yards per catch), and 105 yards on three kickoff returns (35.0 yards per return), totaling 231 all purpose yards.
• He is the first Sooner with at least 100 receiving yards and 100 kickoff return yards in the same game.
• Notched his second touchdown reception of the season on a 34-yard play on OU’s first offensive possession.
• This was his first career 100-yard receiving game.
• His 62-yard return on the opening kickoff was OU’s longest kickoff return of the season.
QB DILLON GABRIEL
• Completed 28 of 31 passes (90%) for 421 yards and five touchdowns for a 251.2 pass efficiency rating. He completed his first 10 passes of the game and 15 of his first 16, and his second-quarter interception was his first turnover of the season (he was hit on the throw).
• Set the single-game school record for pass completion percentage by one player (minimum 25 attempts). The previous record was .882 (30 of 34) by Landry Jones in 2010 vs. Iowa State.
• Directed OU to scores on seven of his eight drives today (six touchdowns and one field goal).
• Has completed 82.5% of his passes (66 of 80) and has compiled a 220.4 passing efficiency rating this season. He entered the game ranked seventh nationally in completion percentage (.776) and fifth nationally in passer rating (200.2).
• Has accounted for 12 touchdowns (11 passing, one rushing) and one turnover through nine quarters played this season (he did not play second half vs. Arkansas State or in the fourth quarter today).
• This was his seventh career game with at least 400 passing yards (third at OU) and 18th career game with at least 300 passing yards (fifth at OU).
• This was his second game at OU with at least five TD passes (six at Texas Tech last year). It was also his 11th career game with at least four touchdown passes (fourth at OU) and 18th career game with at least three TD passes (sixth at OU).

DB KEY LAWRENCE
• Registered his first interception of the season and the second of his career on a play in the third quarter. He also tallied two tackles.

RB GAVIN SAWCHUK
• Scored his first rushing touchdown of the season and the second of his career on a one-yard play in the fourth quarter. He rushed for 25 yards on nine carries in the game.

K ZACH SCHMIT
• Was 9 for 9 on PAT attempts tonight and is 21 for 21 on PATs this season. He is 78 for 78 on career PAT attempts, which is tied for the fifth-longest streak of consecutive made PATs in school history (tied with Tim Lashar [1983-86]).

WR DRAKE STOOPS
• Today marked his first career game with multiple touchdown receptions. He scored two TDs in the first quarter on a pair of four- yard receptions.
• Caught a career-high eight passes for 53 yards in the game and surpassed 1,000 career receiving yards in the first quarter. He now has 1,040 yards on 94 career receptions.

LB DANNY STUTSMAN
• Returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was his third career interception and first of the season. • His pick-six was OU’s first since the 2020 Cotton Bowl (Tre Norwood vs. Florida).
• Finished with a team-high nine tackles, two tackles for loss and the interception.
