In case you are wondering....

And the total fraud Hawkeyes could only muster 7 points for their homecoming game VS unranked 3-2 Purdue Boilermakers in a 24-7 humiliation.
The hawks play at Camp Randle and at Lincoln in a few weeks.
They could win the weakest division in D1 but will be mudholed by whoever they would meet from the East if they somehow make the b1g CCG

We can celebrate the failures of other teams all we want, but until OU has a defensive resolve equal to its offensive resolve, this program is.....as far as winning championships.....just a flashy "also ran" team.
Now 7 games deep into the season and having won 6 games that were very challenging, there's no reason to believe more close games will follow.
Somehow, Grinch has to step up and get his defenders adept at tackling and covering pass attempts. TCU bullied Grinch's defense at will, as if women were playing defense for OU.

First of all, what does one have to do with the other? Secondly, I was making fun of their fans, who are blaming the refs for their loss a 2nd week in a row. Thirdly, OU is 7-0 even with that "sorry defense". Fourthly, at least two of those touchdown passes yesterday were against 1st year players. In both cases, they were on their guy but the receiver made a great play to complete the catch. Yeah, they missed some tackles, probably missed a few gap assignments, took a few bad angles, but they were rarely out of position - those TCU receivers weren't running free. I believe they will get better as those young guys mature.

Lastly, those guys on the other side are on scholarship too. Their QB was recruited by everyone. They are going to make some plays. So why is it that when Kennedy Brooks or Caleb Williams do something spectacular, or OU receivers do something spectacular, we OU fans talk about what a great play it was rather than shitting on the other team's defense? Is it because it feels good?

Veritas, relax.

We have been plagued by injuries. We had several true freshman in the secondary if I remember correctly. Time will tell if those guys develop but I expect more of the same until we get Woodi, Delariun, and Redmond back into the starting lineup.

Seriously? Veritas & Co. were merely having fun (see link below) at the expense of other rival teams and their fanbases. There was no need for you to inject your usual humorless, sanctimonious, pessimistic BS. You're like Sgt. Maj. Dickerson in a room full of Adrian Cronauers. "In more dire need of a........"

My point was that OU has issues that make the failures and issues of other teams meaningless to me.
Texas, as I mentioned, had prized recruit Arch Manning witnessing another Texas meltdown...at home.

Arch likely will go to LSU. If he doesn't he will likely be at Georgia or maybe Ole Miss.
Of course the LSU route likely depends on who they hire after the season is over.
Yeah. This one's a head-scratcher. O is making his exit in the manner that is best for LSU (and with 17 million attaboys, too), but how does that affect recruiting in the interim? As a visiting recruit, you can get a nice tour of the campus and facilities, but you don't even get to visit with the future head coach, and probably none of the assistants. How involved are AD's in recruiting? Are they allowed to be very involved?

Seems like whenever someone praises OU, you feel the need to counter, and whenever someone bashes/ridicules one of OU's rivals, you feel the need to counter. Why don't you just go sit on the porch and make sure no kids walk on your lawn?

You haven’t read most of my entries here and your confrontational statements reflect that.
I want to talk football here. You should too. No foul has been committed.

To his point CT, your bemoaning of OU football is tiresome. Sometimes things are better left unsaid. This is an OU board. The law of averages would suggest that constant ragging of OU football is not going to be well received.

What I wrote of was the fans' preoccupation with other teams' failures, when, in my view, OU has its own issues....namely about its defense. What did I say that wasn't true ?
My concern over the defense was valid. And it is shared by everyone else here.
And after following this team and living through the good times and bad times for over 60 years, I do not warrant such criticism over being objective.

You do not get it. You did not say anything that was untrue but that is not the point. We all share concerns about our defense. It's not the message, it's the delivery. Following OU for 60 years or 60 months garners not special considerations once you put your opinion out for scrutiny. Criticism has no expiration date or shelf life. Try a positive spin on a negative subject and feel better about your readers.

This board is chock full of Rattler trashing, far and away anything I've ever seen directed at an OU player. Let's reel in the hypocrisy.
Scottsdale, you're a good poster. Move away from this.
