What a huge frikin cluster that doping situation has turned out to be. In the end, they just got caught. I have no doubt the Olympics are full of people doping and getting away with it anyways.

I know why Rio thought it was a good idea. I'm wondering about the knucklehead decision makers.

It's funny how the other media outlets are all commenting on unsafe/unsanitary/unfinished conditions in Rio. Yet, NBC is claiming "The Rio Olympic Committee said the facilities are all finished, the area is secure and they are testing the water daily." NBC has too much $$$ to lose if they too report that Rio is a disaster before the torch is even lit.
Normally, I like the Olympics and will watch (since the Braves suck and it's not football season yet), but may not have nearly as much interest as in years past.
I love the Summer Olympics. NBCSP has some early coverage as I type. Women's track and field. I guess the real stuff starts on August fourth. I'll be watching..................
I think they could join in the bashing, and it might actually improve ratings. They should broadcast live tours around the Olympic park in between events. Look at everything else that has good ratings on TV. You can't convince me that positivity sells. "Give us dirty laundry."

The spectators were wearing "turtle shell" biker helmets along the Bike route on the opening racing. What's up with that?
The swimming teams keep spitting out the pool water after the race is finished. Haven't they heard about the bacteria?
I couldn't tell the difference between the men and women swimmers. The women have some huge shoulders and small t......s.
I love watching the rowing teams, but I was surprised how small the men's biceps are. Put in a few Perine's and we will rocket to a win.
After all the articles on feces being in the rivers, I didn't see one turd during the rowing completion.
Can we please keep politics out of the opening ceremonies? England had health care and we get global warming this year. How about gun rights next time........

I tell you what, I'm through with watching Olympic boxing. It has always been the worst judging in history and it's no different this year.
i don't remember the names, but I watched a flyweight semi-final bout between USA and Cuba. The Cuban was the favorite. The Cuban won 3-0 in the first round. No problem with my scoring. Things changed in the last two rounds. The American floored the Cuban twice in the second, but still lost. Both were called slips. WAT!
The third round was even worse. USA boxer beat the crap out of the Cuban who was obviously running from him. They still gave the round to the Cuban. Forget it! No more boxing for me.
And one last thing, why are all the swimmers (men and women) spitting on the swim deck before the match....

I quit watching the boxing after Roy Jones Jr. beat the living Hell out of a south Korean in 88 for the gold medal.... but ended up with the silver,
