I'll tell you what!

I wasn't bouncing off the walls, but I sure enjoyed watching it. He was on today, and his numbers would have been even better if not for a couple of drops by his receivers on 3rd down. Not marginal drops; right between the numbers drops.

He looked great for a half, and was pretty good in the 2nd, but his team lost a step. They scored the most points in the first half, but any Browns team ever. 38-7. Then the Titans played a great half, and the NFL striped started calling like the NBA guys. Get the trailing home team back in the game. The Browns had a LOT of penalties after halftime. It let the Titans get back in the game, down to 13. The Browns were trying to run the clock out. Baker ran a sneak on 4th and 1, and the ball came out. It appeared that happened when he hit the ground for the first down that would have ended the game. But replay called it "stands" after the guys on the field let it play out.

That fumble might have cost Baker NFL offensive play of the week. He was in the zone in the first half, with incredible play calling by Stefanski. Tennessee ran it back 40 yards and scored with 48 seconds left to cut it to six. Cleveland then recovered the onsides kick and ran it out. Very strange game. Final 41-35.

Baker tied a Browns record by Otto Graham in 1951, throwing four TD passes in the first half. Not bad company.

Oh, and it makes the Browns 9-3. Their first winning record for a season guaranteed in a long time.
