If Georgia beats Bama, everyone keeps saying Bama would still make the playoffs, meaning OU or OSU would be left out if they win.

However, what if OU somehow beats Texas something like 63-14? That would mean the first loss to Texas was a fluke and they should be undefeated. Would this scenario eliminate Notre Dame or Alabama or would OU still be left out?

The thing that bothers me the most about the SEC SEC SEC is their non conference schedules. They make no effort to do home and homes with marquee programs, but get major credit for beating up on each other. I'll give Ohio State credit for scheduling big time schools, just like we do. Hell, the SEC doesn't even do a good job of scheduling the better teams from each division playing each other during the regular season. The bias towards that conference is palpable. Alabama played nobody and Georgia played Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee, and UMass, and were blown out by LSU. They have no business being in the 4 spot. And it's the same across the board with that conference.

If georgia beats bama and they both get in then that means only 2 of the 4 teams that got in were Conference Champs, georgia and clemson if clemson wins too.
Assuming OU and tosu both win that would leave 2 Conference champs with one loss each out and a one loss bama team that lost its CCG that gets in and thats not right. Who cares if bama was number 1 all year, if you want in do like the rest of the teams have to except for notre dame, win your conference and lose no more than one game along the way. It would make absolutely no sense to have bama in over OU or tosu if both win and bama loses but I have no doubt thats what will happen if georgia wins. I would like to see bama lose to georgia but it would likely cost a more deserving team a shot at the playoffs when they allow bama in anyway.

The thought has crossed my mind that since the powers that be have basically guaranteed Alabama a playoff spot, win or lose, the Alabama players may take a more lackadaisical approach to the game a la OU vs KState when we were guaranteed a BCS berth regardless of the Big 12 CCG results. I'm not saying Saban would take a laid back approach but the players damn well may.

Not sure about the rest of the SEC...but Bama has had some pretty good out of conference games the last few years.....In 2017 they played Florida State and the year before was USC. I know those programs were down but that is hard to foresee when the schedule was made.

This year's was awful and next year they have Duke, Southern Miss, New Mexico State, and Western Carolina. They've figured out that they don't have to take any chances OOC to get into the playoff.

Nah. Not Bama's style. UGA will put a fight early but the Tide pull away. IF Bama does lose...we out.

If GA wins -
It’s an OU vs ND debate. (Assuming OU wins)
ND didn’t have the 13th game and could be seen as a school that needs to join a conference.

Not predicting it but would be a solid reason by the committee to force ND into the ACC fulltime.

Now come on V you know the SEC teams are just waiting on that invite from the NFL.

Honestly though I agree with you and its a big reason why the human element need eliminated.

ND is in no matter what happens and people need to realize that. It wont even be debated in that room and really why should it be? I dislike the Irish as much as anyone but the committe already set the tone that the 13th data point or conf champions mean jack squat in 2016 and last year.

That 13th data point though at some point will be used again as an excuse to put team A in over Team B depending on how the committee spins it.

Well they had Louisville this year which just happened to be down. OU had UCLA which was equally as bad if not worse. They are probably right about not having to take many chances right now. However, Bama won't always be the powerhouse they are right now. It might take Saban leaving though

If UGA beats Bama (I don't care what the score is, remember we lost 35-7 to KSU in the Big 12 Championship and still made the MNC. Yes BCS era back then, but same would hold true here too). The Top 4 will be Clemson, ND, UGA, Bama. Undefeated Clemson and ND would be locks. No way that OU would get in over ND regardless of how bad OU beats UT. We would then end up playing LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

Agree.
I heard a defender of the OOC dwarf throwing by SEC teams say that the schedule is so hard within the conference, that they schedule less competitive teams outside. What BS. !
Granted, OU plays a weak OOC team annually, but it also plays name brand teams regularly much more often.
Next year, Alabama opens with Duke, then has New Mexico State and Western Carolina. LSU plays Georgia Southern and Northwestern State. Florida faces Tennessee-Martin and Towson.

Not quite the same, though. At least the BCS made their formula known. That year, it was known going into the game that OU had played itself into the championship game regardless of the outcome of the B12 game. Also, not everyone was playing conference championship games at that time.

I was also working in Kansas that year. The Monday after, when I walked into my daily ops meeting, my whole damned team was wearing K-State gear, even the KU fans (what a sacrifice just to get a dig in at me). It was awful and hilarious at the same time. Mostly awful. :)
