Really hate the negative feeling I've got right now. Probably not the only one with those feelings here on the Corner. I actually thought with a great season, winning the conference, making the playoffs, having an exciting offense, returning a QB that everyone loves, landing Kyler Murray (and all his Texas connections) OU would finish strong in recruiting.
Right now, being less than a week away from signing day, it feels like the Sooners are getting ready to have some real disappointments.
While Josh continues to say that OU is in great shape with Cobb and that he's already chosen OU over Baylor once, I can't escape the fact he's visiting there this weekend with a good buddy. Just looks like the perfect scenario for a guy to switch at the very last minute.
Chris Daniels twitter photos of him with Charlie Strong leaves the impression of nothing but love and good times and simply forgetting that the Longhorns ignored him until the day he was set to announce for OU. Anyone other than Texas would be a shock.
And then, the kicker of all kickers of course will be losing 5 star Caleb Kelly to Notre Dame. Again, just follow his twitter account. Either he's trying to throw everyone off or he's not kidding and choosing the Fighting Irish looks like the logical step for him.
We'll see how it plays out. And again, I just find it utterly mystifying that a program rich in tradition coming off an electric year can't seem to recruit a top 25 class. Terrible recruiters on staff? Lack of effort? Just bad luck? Not really sure. Just can't seem to escape the feeling more bad news is imminently on the way.
