I don't see anybody that is unbeatable this year. Expect a 2 loss team in the playoffs

The national championship appears to be up for grabs more so this season than in the past several years. We will see what the SEC has next week when Alabama plays Georgia. Actually, I'm not impressed with the SEC this year that all. LSU and Mississippi may be the best, but probably will lose a game or maybe even two. Wasn't it just two weeks ago that ESPN touted the SEC for being the first conference with 10 teams in the Top 25. Tomorrow there should only be five. The Big 10 has Ohio State, Michigan State and (I like) Michigan that can contend, but not one else.....Michigan upsets OSU this year. I can hope, can't I? UCLA looks good now, but the PAC has USC and Stanford, who have already lost, that could soil it for UCLA. I would like to see Utah take the PAC. Who is going to come out of the ACC? So, could Baylor from the Big XII end up being the class of the of the playoff teams. Frankly, that would be hard for me to take because of Art Briles. So could OU somehow play itself into the playoffs? If so, the defense will have to get better and Baker Mayfield with need to stay healthy so the Sooners can outscore teams like Tech, TCU and Baylor. It's going to be interesting. My playoff dream teams OU, Utah, Michigan State, Mississippi

I was just thinking of this yesterday too. Now I dunno about a 2 loss team getting into the playoffs, but it's hard not to see just how much parity there is in college football these days, and literally any team can be beaten by anyone on any given week. I really think in the end there will still be a slew of 1-loss teams that will be jockeying for playoff spots. In the end it will simply be the teams that are able to avoid the few hiccups they will surely encounter during the season.

Games like TCU-TTech yesterday was a good example. In the end, maybe TTech is just better than was expected before the year started. But TCU grinding out that win is a type of moment or situation that every single team will have to contend with at some point of the season. It was just a shootout to see which team could score last and just outscore the other team since there really wasn't much defense on the field at all.

The amount of parity in college football now I think makes it inevitable. Look at Tulsa and what a difference going to a Baylor offense has made. Tulsa's talent level is literally the same as it was last season when OU destroyed them 52-7, but then changing offenses has literally transformed them into a much more potent team overnight. With so much spread, Air Raid, and the Baylor offenses now, teams don't need the top-to-bottom talent the OU's or Alabama's, or Ohio State's have to be competitive each week. Teams just need a decent QB, a couple good WR's, and a decent RB, and the offensive system's today pretty much guarantee they will put up a good number of points on the board. Throw in there if a team like OU or Alabama or Ohio State have a bit off an off week, and BAM you have an upset. Kinda like Alabama last week when they turned the ball over 5 times and lost a close game to Ole Miss. If Alabama takes care of the ball, they very likely win that game.

But I think with so much parity and shakeups each week with top teams being challenged and beaten each week, I really think OU has as good a chance as any to navigate through the schedule and make a run. Landmines like TCU, Baylor and TTech loom that can really make OU's suspect secondary really pay, but in the end those games will end up maybe being shootouts where OU should be able to score a good number of points. If those teams make a few key mistakes with turnovers and such, and OU plays solid and mistake free, then hell yes OU could come out with wins.

I think what we have learned through the first 4 weeks of the season is that their is no clear cut number 1 or even 1-10 team out there. The pollsters may post their list but for the first time in quite some time no single team has shown they are heads and shoulders above the rest.

Someone in the off- season stated on a radio show that he felt this season that only 1 conference would have a team with 1 loss or less. That conference was the Big 10 but even now I am not so sure he will be correct about that prediction because TOSU has shown all kinds of signs that they are not unbeatable. Michigan is greatly improved under Harbaugh and they will just get better each and every week. Michigan State like them or not has the tools to knock off the Buckeyes. I also wouldn't count out a few other teams that just might bust that Buckeye bubble.

I think this season is shaping up as quite possibly one of the best seasons ever where chaos will reign supreme and the best part of it will be the committee trying to sell everyone on who they perceive as the 4 best teams. Imagine if we have a slew of 2 loss teams at seasons and how much fun it would be to be a fly on the wall in that room? I think even the flies listening to their BS discussion would even make them puke.
