I don’t blame Mark May or Pollack for their OU hatred.

They were not OU fans in the first place. Pollack is from the SEC and May played for Pitt (on the heels of OU nearly killing Dorsett). So they had reason to hate on OU even before OU destroyed the ESPIN SEC narrative by beating Bama in the Sugar Bowl.

Both Pollack and May work for the network which essentially sponsors the SEC. OU is the LAST team ESPN wants in the Final if it is against Bama as the consensus is that OU is the team best equipped to beat Bama. So in their view, OU is best equipped to crash the SEC propaganda machine. The consensus is that Clemson is the second best team equipped to beat Bama. This reality played a role in Bama being aligned against Michigan State in the semi making Bama’s road to the NC that much better for them. Therefore it is imperative OU and Clemson play each other such that Bama does not have to get by both. In any event, can you imagine, IF it is an OU / Bama matchup in the final and OU wins, ESPN will go further insane. The thought of that possibility is already driving them nuts over there. This is why they are rooting so hard for Clemson and rallying Clemson etc. Sure all of this is speculation but all the pieces of the puzzle fit.

If we lost to Clemson, no one will be happier than ESPIN.
