I recall there for a little while, maybe 10 yrs ago or so, a lot of the schools I visited had a police officer on duty. Not sure what happened to that, but there were several around my area that had them. Bull, I believe its conceal carry

I would like to have an armed policeman in every school.

I think most public schools have had some form of enforcement on site for years but the reasoning was related to internal issues such as student/student or student/teacher altercatons. There was a time when an external threat was simply umimaginable.

I did a scientific poll at the dog park this am. Two teachers, one male, one female. The female paused to let another female chime in with her thoughts and then they chose No. The male said he was a hunter and was a Yea. There you have it: 50/50

Three armed policemen stood outside of the school apparently afraid of a shooter with an assault rifle who with one pull of his trigger he could have killed all three in 2 seconds.

Do I condone what three policemen did?....ABSOLUTELY NOT!

They did not do their jobs to protect the public.

It reinforced what I thought about teachers having guns, It shows me that teachers should not have guns.

If teachers were to have hand guns I’d think they would use them to protect themselves and their class or area, but I wouldn’t depend upon them to seek out the shooter(s) and go up against an AR. Some teachers would but don’t think most. That’s expecting way too much. Now if they were allowed to carry an AR15 to school then that’s different story.

Cops should have ARs in their patrol car in case they come up against a guy like the four FL cops did last week.

How in gods name does the inaction of officers reinforce what teachers should or shouldn't do?? God almighty.......

I mean if officers aren't going to respond to help out, may as well leave teachers and students defenseless too right?? Geez....

Stop Cherry picking what I said.

No teacher would win with a hand gun vs,. an assault rifle.
She would be dead in 1 second with 5 bullets in her.

Back in the day those Ladies did not need guns, they put the fear of God in you! God has been taken out of schools and the devil has made it his playground. My gf is a nurse at a Catholic hospital and they pretty much no longer have a bunch of Nuns working there anymore. She said she can tell the difference as the young nurses get away with a lot more crap than they used to 25 yrs ago and are basically lazy and think they know everything and unwilling to learn. It is pretty much like this everywhere these days, nobody gives a shit anymore about anyone or anything. No pride in self or doing your job the right way. I could go on and on but I won't.

This is patently false and fully exposes your dishonesty, or intellectual laziness, or both.

As people age, some regress into childhood. You appear to be at the 12 year-old girl stage.

You're nothing but a disingenuous troll.

Good call V. Not sure how I missed that little nugget in his post. I think it's pretty evident that Bull has no clue about guns and firearms and simply eats the drool fed to him out of CNN or any other anti-gun troll that gets in front of the camera. I really feel bad for people who just take what the media feeds them as truth and makes zero effort to actually educate themselves.

I really don't know anything at all, but I really think that one individual, reasonably well trained in the use of a handgun, could provide at least a little defense against a better-armed intruder. Why not have at least a couple of folks like that in our schools? Every teacher doesn't have to be armed, but why not a few? It would be like the air marshal program - nobody knows who has the gun, so you better be careful...

Hell, my kids are all grown now, but I think I would be thinking seriously about home-schooling them if this was 20 years ago.
