I wonder which teams he is pondering, and if he spoke to LR. Guess we shall see....
Ou does not need Hurts. He would bring more controversy than benefit to the program at this point.
Thank youOu does not need Hurts. He would bring more controversy than benefit to the program at this point.
Excuse me but Hurts played in 30+ games where his passing was very substandard. He was mobile but his passing was bad in many cases. Now you think he is the man to get the ball to Lamb and Rambo? Are we talking about the same Hurts? Rattler has nothing to learn from Jalen Hurts.Hurts is a man among boys...his talent is as shining as his leadership. It would be hard not to bring him on board to teach the pups ...and to get Lamb and Rambo the ball on the money. He has a definite upside and Rattler needs a deep dive into the playbook and practices.
What packages? He can't pass the ball? We just recruited the 3 best WRs in the nation. You really think Hurts can get the ball to them in Big XII fashion? Hurts is taking major steps backwards in QB play. He's one dimensional.I doubt it. We can have packages for him and he can add veteran leadership. If Kyler comes back then yea we don’t need him. Honestly I feel for him because Nick Satan did him dirty and I’d like to see him actually get developed unlike at Bama and get drafted and he’d credit OU for all this NOT BAMA.
If Riley can make Hurts better for one year, this could allow OU to "kick the can down the road" in the development of Rattler by redshirting him. But as I said earlier, Rattler may be too good to redshirt, even as a summertime arrival.I'm torn about Hurts coming to OU.
One one hand, I can see Riley working with him to elevate his game and become and even better passer. He has good size and can be utilized like Belldozer and/or Elhinger at texas on third and short situations. He could make a significant contribution to the program, but not sure if he's the right guy for the job right now.
On the other hand, he never particularly "wowed" me as a QB. Not saying he's not capable, but he's not someone who makes you sit up and take notice (I guess I've gotten spoiled by Sam, Baker and Kyler). Hurts' arrival at OU would create even more competition among Austin, Mordecai, Rattler, etc. for the QB job and it would not surprise me if someone left the program if Hurts did show up at OU.
What is this story that Kyler can play for the As then play Sooner football next fall?
Hurts won't be confused with Mayfield or Murray, but he could help OU....and many other teams.
In limited duty, backing up a Heisman candidate, he completed 51 of 70 passes (72.9%) for 765, or 15 yards per completion, with only 2 picks.
However, I don't see Riley taking him. I think Riley likes what he has....or will have.
Exactly. Why would he come to OU to be a back up? Hurts is a better fit at TCU than OU.Hurts isn't looking to go somewhere where he might not even be the starter. He can stay at Bama and have "packages" for him from time to time. He wants to play....he'll find a school but I highly doubt its going to be OU
3 of 5 O-Linemen declared for the draft before Evans. Are you saying Murray was on the fence until Evans declared for the draft?Bobby Evans going pro, pretty sure that means Murray is not returning to Oklahoma.

He'd arguably be farther behind at TCU than at OU. Collins (the kid who came in for Robinson when we played them) was a sophomore who started 4 or 5 games before he got hurt toward the end of the year. With Murray leaving, we don't have anyone with that much experience.Exactly. Why would he come to OU to be a back up? Hurts is a better fit at TCU than OU.
