Interesting story about how we got a Rivals 100 WR in the final week of recruiting.

And the moral of story: Always return prospects' phone calls.

How OU signee Mykel Jones went from 'Nah, SEC' to loving Norman

PATTERSON -- Mykel Jones grew up thinking and dreaming about playing in the SEC. With scholarship offers from LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and others, the Patterson wide receiver could have went that route, but it's funny how things work out.

The weekend before National Signing Day, the four-star wideout had an official visit scheduled with Ole Miss but when he called to ask a few questions about the itinerary, no one returned his call. So he decided to give Oklahoma a late visit, since the Sooners had been wanting him to see Norman.

"(Oklahoma) been on me for a long, long time," he said. "They offered me when I was there this past weekend. I guess the offer never came before because they never thought I was serious because I always blew them off. I was always like, 'Nah, SEC.' But I went up there and I loved it!
