• Senior guard Buddy Hield registered his ninth straight game of at least 20 points with his team-high 26-point effort (he had 20 in the first half). It is OU’s longest streak of games of 20-plus points since Stacey King racked up 11 straight in the 1988-89 season.

• With his 6-for-12 3-point effort, Hield set the OU career record for made 3-pointers (now has 261). He passed Terry Evans, who made 259 in his career (Hield has played in 13 fewer games than Evans did). Hield, who has been named national player of the week twice in the last three weeks.

Here are all five of Hield's 3-pt makes from Wednesday night's Bedlam victory. The fifth one coming in the second half, establishing the Oklahoma school record.

• In four Big 12 games, Hield is now averaging 31.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting .545 from the field and .500 from 3-point range (22 for 44). He is averaging 5.5 3-point makes in league play

• Over the last three regular season games against OSU, Hield is 25 for 35 (.714) from the field (15 for 18 last year and 10 for 17 tonight).

* The turnovers are worrisome. I made note of them on Twitter. Can't expect to go deep in the tourney when you turn the ball over at the rate OU currently is. Saturday is a huge test for this squad moving forward.

Below are the SCOOPHD highlights from postgame with the Sooners ... Jordan Woodard, Buddy Hield on hand along with Sooners HC Lon Kruger.

Couple BEDLAM items:

* It was OU’s sixth consecutive victory over the Cowboys (third straight in Stillwater) and eighth in the last nine meetings. The Sooners are now 135-95 all-time against OSU (25-18 in the Big 12 era). The last time OU won at least three straight games in Stillwater was a four-game streak from 1982 to 1985.

* Lon Kruger improved to 8-2 against Oklahoma State as OU’s head coach (3-2 in Stillwater).

Cousins moving in right direction ...

* Really thought this was a big game for Isaiah Cousins on Wednesday. He's had a rough go of it over the last 3-4 games, and really started to move in the right direction, IMO.

Cousins scored 12 points, snapping a two-game streak in which he did not reach double digits. Cousins was a combined 0 for 4 from 3-point range the last two outings but was 2 for 6 tonight. He added 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a team-high 3 steals on the evening.

While Oklahoma looked for consistency at PG, while Hield turned the ball over at an alarming rate, it was Cousins that stayed positive (did the small things on the floor)
