Unlike football, the basketball Red River Shootout does take place semi-annually at each team's campus. Tonight, Oklahoma (8-10; 2-5) travels to Austin to face Texas (7-12; 1-6) at 8 pm CT in the Frank Erwin Center for the first match-up in 2017. Both of these teams are better than their records show, as they have combined for 12 losses this season by five points or fewer.

TV: ESPN (Bob Wischusen, Fran Fraschilla and Holly Rowe)
Radio: OKC - 107.7 FM, Tulsa - 1430 AM (Toby Rowland and Kevin Henry)

The Sooners have played much better since the return of Jordan Woodard, who has scored 18 or more points in the second half alone in each of his last three outings. OU went 2-1 during that stretch, with the lone loss coming two days ago in double overtime to Iowa State. Only Frank Mason of Kansas averages more points per game in the Big 12 than Woodard and Oklahoma is a respectable 8-5 with the senior point guard in the starting lineup.

Kameron McGusty extended his double-digit scoring streak to six games in the loss on Saturday and his 14.1 ppg in Big 12 play is third best among freshmen.

Kristian Doolittle is coming off the first double-double of his career and just the second this season by a Sooner, the only other being Khadeem Lattin's to open the regular season against Northwestern State. Doolittle also recorded the first 15-point, 15-rebound game by an OU player since Ryan Spangler in 2014. His 7.3 rebounds per game in Big 12 play is second among freshmen.
