In order for this year's version of OU football to be on par with last year's version, the defense will have to be better. Baker Mayfield and his Heisman isn't walking through the door and we all know it. Sure, LR and the offense will still be very good. It's a given. But to have any hope for a playoff run, the defense will have to improve and rather dramatically.
I'm asking for those who've followed the off season moves, who are fully aware of new players and their potential contributions, to offer informed opinions and give reasons why Sooner fans should believe this year's defense will be better.
So, if things were to go "right" what would it mean? What would it take for OU to be a top 25 defense this year?
