Standard apology format we're all used to.
At least it wasn't a year later and just before ending his college career. lol
As in 'Better NEVER, than Late'...
With a few extra paragraphs. He should have shut his pie hole when the cops game.
Mayfield will likely remain team captain and lead the team to another 10-win season.
While Stoops may enact a mild punishment, demoting Mayfield from being a team captain may be risky for Stoops due to its possible impact on Mayfield's psyche and perhaps the team in general.
My guess is that Mayfield gets benched in the opener against UTEP....period.
My hope is that Mayfield uses this episode in his life to become a better person. A better MAN.

I believe Captains are selected each season...Unlike Senators, it's not a Lifetime Position...
They need to announce Mayfield's suspension today! Go ahead and suspend him for the whole rest of the basketball season. Nail him to the wall with a six month suspension right now!
Has a suspended player ever been allowed to participate in team practices under Bob Stoops? I don't look for a suspension, or at least not until after Spring football. And then only until players are allowed to practice on their own this Summer. Baker won't miss any practices, IMO.
I already bought balloons for his birthday. Black, with a frown on them, and head bands on them.
Take away his birthday too. Whoops, now he has another year of eligibility.

No kidding. The Lady Gymnasts are defending National Champions making it look easy cruising to another one. When is Mayfield going to start acting like a girl and bring us one in football?
