Hatari Byrd news.

Heard he was gone a few days ago, but speculation was he wasn't having much progress making the transition from safety to LB. I guess this article answers the real reason.
Interesting to note that Byrd was being considered as an outside linebacker in his final year at OU.
What does that say about how the coaches feel of the depth at linebacker this season ? Are there any other players who could be moved to linebacker ?

That's a good point CT. Maybe this is the first year we are seeing the impact of Kish's awful LB recruiting his first few years here.

I do believe that all of us are going to be pleasantly surprised in the LB play this season as compared to the past few seasons.

Or it could be that Byrd was having an awful time at safety and the coaches were trying to accommodate him. He had fallen behind several freshman on the depth chart at safety, so putting him at LB is not a big deal. Our depth and LB will be fine, we have several guys that can play.

Yep, you'd think.
We have 8 or 9 guys with LB by their name...of those there has to be a magic rotation that rises to the top.

Since we have a Heisman candidate QB to run what should be a prolific offense, perhaps Bob is focusing more on his forte, a junk yard dog, mean ass defense.
