Guess what we have to look forward to next season?

Any discussion of this team is a waste of time as long as Riley ignores having a championship defense.
OU was ranked 67th in defense nationally and was the only team of the final four not in the top 5 defensively. That was graphically apparent on Monday.
What to look forward to ?.......High scoring games, at least 2-3 losses a year and more defensive recruiting hauls that will keep OU at arms' length for winning a national championship.....and Mike Stoops continually collecting a huge salary. And of course, the apologists/homers who keep blowing smoke about OU's great history and all the great players currently on the roster and how lowly Texas is.
Nothing will change.

People kept saying that "it's just the Big 12 and the spread offense". Well look back to 2008. The spread had been in the Big 12 for a while and the OU defense held opponents to 251 yds passing and 112 yds rushing and 24.5 pts a game. I'm not sure what it was this year because I can't stomach looking it up but I'm sure that it's much much higher. I do remember 2008 OU held texas tech to 21 pts and put up 65 on them. We ran off the wrong guy it seems.

2017 may be OU's "high water mark" for a while.

You never know. I predicted 9-3 before this season but had no way of knowing that after losing Westbrook, Mixon and Perine that we'd have Sermon, Anderson, Lamb, Brown etc step up and become stars. Now if we can get multiple stars to step up on defense...seems like we have about one every year or so. Remember when we had 4-5 at once? I miss those days. If Riley won't fire Mike Stoops maybe he can at least get him to fix our tackling problem in the off season. There has to be a reason we can't tackle consistently. Maybe after 'Bama crushes UGA Mike can get a meeting with someone on their staff to see their practice routines. I have a feeling they practice harder on tackling then anyone else in the NCAA.

Well Mike always says that we have to just expect giving up 30 plus points to teams in the big 12 and theres nothing they can do about it. Well we just gave up 45 to Georgia...a traditional offense. So now we are just supposed to expect giving up 30 plus points to ANY offense? Honestly, I think Mike is just out of ideas.

I think Mike just doesn't want to think that he may have lost something or not adapted. I fail to see why the offense can continuously play with enthusiasm while the defense doesn't. Back in October Mike said it "begins with enthusiasm and effort" but that is just a passive aggressive way of accusing the players of not playing hard enough. Maybe he's lost them? Or lost touch with the youth of today? I know people can get stuck in their ways as they age. Maybe that's happened to Mike. Maybe it's not just a scheme but how he runs the team through practice and how he coaches or something.

Can we look forward to be 66th in total defense next year?Having to go through this every year is getting old.Lincoln's press conference doesn't instill much confidence either.I was surprised at the tone and the content. He didn't come across very good at all.

I didn't hear it, but did notice that he did not attend the Presser interviewing all of the coaches, after both games were over. All were present, EXCEPT Riley...???
