Seeing some things on defense I haven't seen in a long time. If effort in games matches effort in practice, we're on our way to a great season.

He has more fire and less ego than Jack In Box. Hope the players show the drastic change on the field. Maybe not huge gains, but at least make the stops and generate turnovers. Both are huge to widen the gap from good to great. Grinch seems to be a step in the right direction. Get the Sooner D way more street cred.

Negative plays and turnovers. The Big XII, Clemson and Alabama have loads of skill position talent that are going to make plays.

If OU had gotten two ore three additional defensive stops per game (or a turnover or two) over the last two years, I have to believe the Sooners would have been unbeaten in both seasons. Beating Clemson last year would have been a tall order, but you never know. Any improvement in the defense is going to be really helpful, period.
