that the theme was OU EvOlUtion showing great players from the past to today. The great Adrian Peterson was very obviously missing from the greats. This struck me as very odd, hum....... Did the PC police crack down again? Me thinks so and it is ridiculous. I guess OU doesn't claim AD anymore, I mean the horror of spanking your kid these days! I wonder if they gave him back his donations.

Interesting observation. I didn't notice that until now.

The thing that struck me when I looked at the tickets... Who would have ever thought that TCU was going to be the feature OU home game one day? And also the highest face value ticket price... $105 (in my section). TCU? TCU?

If enough people would send them back, the injustice would end abruptly. OU better hope AD has a forgiving heart which I think he does.

S22 - Yes in my section they are $105 the feature game. It may be a great game but TCU?? I would have never guessed this when they joined the league.

By the way didn't you change sections or had to for some reason? If memory serves me correctly you are not really S22 anymore right? I don't blame you, you can't change your board name after all these years, it just wouldn't be prudent at this juncture.

I agree. I'm talking to a lady in the sooner club about the new seating options with the expansion and I think I'm going to bring the AD snub up and ask her what's up and that we OU fans noticed that even if they didn't think we would. Adrian Peterson is a great Sooner and shouldn't be treated like that.

I hope he doesn't decide to say he is from Palestine, Texas and not OU now on his introductions. :(

I'm looking for 3 RRR tickets between the 30 and 50 in the OU half of the stadium.

First, let me preface this with I believe AD probably learned his lesson, and to not acknowledge his contribution to OU football is silly.

However if you think all AD did was spank his kids, then you haven't followed the story very well. There is considerable damning evidence that he did much more than spank a child. He admitted to hitting 4 year olds and maybe younger with tree switches. When confronted about injuries to his childrens' heads and cuts above their eyes, he replied that they wouldn't have been scarred if they would have sat still and took their beatings, and they learned their lessons.

AD wasn't merely spanking his children. He was beating them. Growing up without a good father figure, I can understand his ignorance to appropriate punishment, but I'm glad he was caught and taught was is and isn't acceptable. What he was doing to those kids was not conducive to raising a good man. What he was doing was raising the next decade's societal burdens, men that dominate the statistics of violent crimes.

Be careful as there are some who don't want to hear the facts. His spankings were more than just normal discipline which most of us use or have used with our children.

I just hope that all the attention focused on AD and his over the top actions doesn't bleed over into society in general. I have no issue with parents who use spankings to discipline their kids as I think we have to little discipline in today's world. But, there is a line between a spanking and being abusive. Like you, i think AD went to far. I have no issue with OU putting a little distance between them and AD, if that in in fact what happened here. There is no proof of that, just conjecture.

How many players were highlighted? If it was one or even two per ticket, then I could see leaving AD off.

We have five Heisman winners. Several others won national offensive or defensive or player of the year awards. Except for last season, and the year he was hurt, Adrian's pro career was better than his Sooner career.

How many OUtland and Lombardi winners did we have? Adrian was a great talent. But his only season at OU not interrupted in a major way by injuries was his first. And he didn't start that season until like game four or five.

I don't think it has anything to do with his unfair treatment by the NFL last season.

Eh, Plaino might be correct and this is just a tempest in a teapot.

It's just a little disquieting that it seems there are so many deeply flawed 'saints' passing judgement on folks that when they committed their transgressions, absolutely thought they were doing the right thing at the time.

I totally agree with that statement, and it's precisely why I stated that, "I'm glad he was caught and taught."
I'm just a deeply flawed hellion, but as the saying goes, "do as I say, not as I do."

I'm sorry you missed all the graphic damage done to a four year old by a damn switch. I'm also sorry you condone that kind of behavior.

Well, you glossed right over my point as well.

No, for the record and having been a textbook victim of it, I don't condone child abuse,
spanking without visible marks, hell yes, that's fair game.

I did stress that he thought he was doing the right thing...he wasn't.

Now, if you tear this apart, that is on you. Not me.

You know I was thinking about this.
In the fifties, the only time law enforcement would get involved in domestic affairs were if there were life threatening injuries or death. It was by law a civil issue.
We went from that ridiculous extreme to now, beleaguered parents are reticent to spank wayward children at all.
All the kid has to do is whine to their teacher that "Daddy hit me", and you have child services at your place before sunset...the opposite ridiculous extreme.

I assume this was meant for me. Why don't just speak your mind in clear language without being so cryptc. I read your post a couple of times and I think I responded to what you actually said. I am plain spoken and don't sure don't go out of my way to leave my words to interpretation.

Plaino, there are 28 players shown.

Of the Stoops era, 9 are shown.
Jason White
Sam Bradford
Ryan Broyles
DeMarco Murray
Gerald McCoy
Stacy McGee
Tommie Harris
The Roy Williams
And a #32, Samaje Perine

#28 should have been on the tickets. Perhaps Perine was Photoshop'ed to hide AD in the original ticket design. Boy, that would be a scandal.

Cryptic? Seriously?

Yep, you are a regular Will Rogers...

If I use words you don't understand...look them up.

I refuse to dumb down my posts. I can't.

If anything I'd like to extend and challenge people, it's how we learn.

Let's tailgate this season...huh?

And there is a #32 wearing a modern uni, but I think it is a fictitious player. Unless someone can think of a great #32 during the Stoops era. I'm drawing blanks, (wink, wink :) )

The only guy on that list who ought to be below 28 is Stacy McGee. But it may be that they decided to have the same number of defensive guys as offensive guys. Could 32 be Jamell Fleming?

Could 32 be Jamell Fleming?

I don't think the "XII" logo was above the jersey number when Fleming played. But it could pass as him returning an INT. Both Perine and Fleming have monster biceps and facial features. It is Perine, but it seems very odd to me that an underclassman would be featured on the ticket card. However, the season theme is "EvOlUtion".

There had to have been a conscious decision made to omit Adrian Peterson, and I think that is a weak minded cheap shot at an all-time Sooner great. I don't care what the grumpy old men have to say about it.

32 might be Samaje.
If I'm not mistaken, Adrian Peterson holds no records.
Well, a Wikipedia search shows that he has the most 100-yard games by a freshman (11). He didn't even win the Doak Walker award though.
