So I'm home after getting my partial knee replacement and what Texas Tech games do they choose to replay on ESPN Classic? 2011 and 2007 both LOSSES. Nah ESPN doesn't have an agenda. What a joke.

I saw the butt end of the 2011 game today and was thinking the same thing. Hope your rehab goes smoothly and you’re back to normal really soon, 49.

I believe ESPN has looked at OU's history of playing in Lubbock and thinks it will be a great game.
I don't see any bias against OU.

They know ‘Bama/LSU is going to dominate ratings in that time slot, so they don’t care about anything else but pulling as many viewers as possible. OU would be in this time slot no matter the opponent. We have brand name pull...period. UT was closing that gap but choked away their chance for the spotlight with last weeks loss.

I hate defending anything ESPN, but in fairness, what OU wins over Tech can you really call classic? The only 2 that I would call such are ‘06 & ‘16, but both of those games were on Fox.

That 2008 game was insane. Quite possibly the loudest I have ever heard the stadium through my tv.

A “classic” game is and should be regarding a close and important game, not a blowout.
The 2008 Texas Tech game doesn’t translate as a “classic”......any more than the 55-19 loss to USC in the 2004 championship game.

FWIW, I checked my viewing guide since Bedlam is next week. They’ll be showing the ‘88, ‘04, ‘08, ‘10 (x2), & ‘12 games. The following week we’re playing KU & the ‘08 game is scheduled to be shown 3 times (why they’d call that a classic, I don’t know but whatever). Unless I’m mis-counting, that’s 9 showings of a Sooner win with no losses among them.

This is very true. But we all have to be reminded of the state of the OU game at that time. TT beat us the year before and we actually struggled to beat Tech in several several games. They were becoming an aggravation. Bob even called for a 'loud' stadium etc. OU needed this game badly and there was some anxiety taking place for the week building up to the game etc. The blow out was the reason the stadium got so loud. There were some very happy, satisfied Sooner fans in the stadium that night.

Yup... and although it was a silly line “Big Game Bob is Back!” line got me all the time:D
