Time to throw the ball to Mordecai and see what he can do. Not sure Rattler can answer the bell just yet. Riley better have some lengthy meetings with him this spring. Give him a deep dive into the playbook. I know we will see the great WR class scrambling like F-18’s to get on the field deck with CeeDee. I am really excited about this crew. To me...they could be unstoppable.

saw on espn i think that hurts was leaning toward maryland. you woulda' though he'd want his last year to be at a place where he would have a realistic chance of winning something. win some lose some. plus i guess it ain't official yet

Yeah .... i had not heard anything about Hurts since Monday so i was beginning to give up on him also.

I do think that LR will make the best decisions about the players.

And yes, I am excited for the offense also. If we can get a top 50 defense I believe we can take the Big 12 conference again.

I really don't understand why Kendall would want to transfer now. He has waited all this time for his opportunity. Now he gets it and wants to leave? Doesn't make any sense

Think he got wind of Hurts visiting and felt like the odd man out. Just my reading of the situation. Seems like LR is holding fast to not bringing in a transfer. We surely could find some defensive sluggers that way though. We need new blood in addition to better coaching. IMO

Well certainly not with that attitude! :D

Saw this earlier,

Peter Burns @PeterBurnsESPN
"Jalen Hurts going to Maryland to reunite with his old OC Mike Locksley would make sense.
Jalen Hurts going to Miami to reunite with his old QB coach Dan Enos would make sense.
Jalen Hurts turning down Oklahoma who just had back to back transfer Heisman QB's would not make sense"

I know some OU fans would like to pass on Hurts but had it not been for Tua, Hurts would have been a Heisman fav going into 2018 even had bama lost vs georgia in the National Championship game.
I am not saying OU will fall apart without him but I sure would like to see what Riley could do with him.
Either way life goes on.

With Austin Im guessing he sees Rattler as the guy in 2020, Austin has 2 years to play. That would mean possibly sitting behind Rattler his senior year, no way Riley will keep Rattler as a back up for 2 years.

I get this feeling that Kendall isn't as good as we were led to believe, and all this "it's too close to call" talk from Riley last summer was just to keep both Kendall and Murray motivated and connected through 2 a days. Not saying Kendall did anything wrong but he simply is not the playmaker Murray is. Still, I find it hard to believe he would leave right now.

No QB is the play maker Murray is, so comparing Kendall or any other QB to him is "comparing apples to oranges".
I hope Kendall stays if Hurts doesn't come in.
Regardless, I can see OU's quarterbacking in decent shape by the Texas game in October.....it will have to be to, once again, carry the defense which isn't going to be good overnight.

I hate to break this to you, but Rattler has had the play book for a long time and has been working on it. Also Rattler is working out with a QB guru, so he is taking it seriously.

I also have to say that with Tanner getting all the scholarship QB reps this Spring he is going to be hard to beat out. Rattler may regret not working to enroll this January.

I agree Frou...The little he played in 2018 never led me to believe he was even a quality back up let alone a starter...

I'm with you, frou. In the opportunities he's had, I never saw thing that excited me about taking over. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Rattler got the playbook on 19 Dec after he signed with OU. Reportedly, Mike Giovando, QB guru in Phoenix has been the guest of OU on several occasions over the last couple of years (since Rattler pledged) so we can assume Rattler has worked on OU specifics.

Well with Hurts it's definitely OU or Maryland since Martell is going to the Canes. I'm kinda torn as I really like Hurts and think he will succeed in our offense with LR leading the way and coaching him up, but at the same time I'm curious about Rattler yet nervous about his ability to come in as a True Freshman and lead us (not saying he can't, see Trevor Lawrence). I guess if I had to choose, give me Hurts for a year (don't RS Rattler so he gets some play time) and then hand over the reigns to Rattler after Hurts leaves.

Rattler can get into 4 games and still RS. Hurts coming is critical. If he starts next year both Mordecai and Rattler get reps and playing time and by 2020 they can battle it out with whomever is in the 2020 class.

I read he lawyered up, just dont see what kind of case he would have. "they brought someone in better that me so I need to transfer." Maybe he will get the waiver, if so I could see this opening up a lot of problems for the NCAA.

I tried to tell you guys a few days ago my gut said OU. Now my gut is in no way as powerful as a Womans intuitive powers such as what SS has but its rarely wrong :D
Sometimes I am just hungry so its hard to say really. :p
