My Mother and I split the cost of a new Rolex Oyster Perpetual (the standard model) from Newton's Jewelers in Ft. Smith, Arkansas for my Christmas present in 1971. $250.00. Jewelers now tell me it is worth $4000.00 at least. I have it cleaned about every 10 years.
