Hey guys so I don't really post a lot (obviously) I mostly just like reading everything and getting all the information. Anyway, my Dad is originally from Oklahoma and formerly a long time member of Sooner Scoop until he passed a few years back. We moved around a lot when I was a kid so we didn't get a lot of chances to get to home OU games. We have been to a lot of away games at ISU, K-State, and KU because for the past few years my family has lived in Omaha/Lincoln Nebraska so we could make a day trip out of those games. The last home game we made it to was 2008 and I was 15 so our trip was mostly just the game, dinner and back to the hotel. I haven't made it back to Norman for a game because I just haven't really had the time to make a weekend trip out of the whole thing. BUT this season my girlfriend and I decided that we will for sure be making it down for the UCLA game and maybe another one later in the season, I have pretty much converted her to a Sooner fan over the past few years. I am very excited to be making back down to OU for the first time in years and for the first time as an adult. So I just have a couple questions about some things:
1. Is it worth just staying in OKC/Moore and taking an Uber or something to and from the game, the hotel prices are cheaper there than in Norman but I don't know if staying outside of Norman would just be a shit show getting to and from the game and not even worth the cheaper hotel. Might also look into Airbnb.
2. Now the important question what is the tailgating/bar situation? Best places to go before and after the game for some drinks?
Thanks!
