I think that Bob Stoops has really retired. He's not looking for any head coaching job...NFL or otherwise.
BUT ... I wonder if he night get a college football commentator job like Mack Brown is doing.
Your thoughts.
We are all probably 'Over-Thinking' this...There may not BE any hidden agenda or ulterior motive on anyone's part. Bob has seen first hand what losing his father at a fairly early age did to him, and the rest of his family, and he may be trying to safeguard his wife and children from that. He knows that the price he pays for his high profile job is measured in stress and strain, possibly more than dollars and cents. He seemingly 'has it made' on that level, and maybe he is simply smart enough to kick back and enjoy his beautiful life with his beautiful wife, and children, before he blinks, and they are gone...

He also said that his father's death has always been in the back of his mind and probably factored somewhat into his decision. He said that although there is no immediate medical issue preventing him from coaching, he has dealt with heart desease that has been managed for the past 10-15 years.
