***Jackson is Oklahoma's third commitment from Cibolo (Texas) Steele and the first since defensive tackle Marquis Anderson in the class of 2011. Another Knight to sign with the Sooners was wide receiver Sheldon McLain in 2009.

***With Jackson joining last week's four-star defensive end commitment Amani Bledsoe the Sooners have a pair of four-star defensive ends - even if Jackson is destined for linebacker in Oklahoma's scheme. The last time they had two four-star defensive ends in the class? 2008 with five-star R.J. Washington and four-star David King.

***He is the second Army All-American in the class, joining safety Chanse Sylvie, the last time the Sooners signed two Army All-Americans? Last year. However, if Oklahoma can land Caleb Kelly that would give them three, the first time the Sooners would have three enrollees from the Army game since 2012 - Derrick Woods, Durron Neal, Taylor McNamara, John Michael McGee, and Ty Darlington.

***He is the first San Antonio area commitment since Dimitri Flowers in the class of 2014 from Churchill high school.

***Jackson makes it seven players of Oklahoma's current 19 man class that were committed elsewhere before joining the ranks of Oklahoma's 2016 class.

***For those enjoying the name game as much as myself, he is only the sixth Jackson to sign with the Sooners in the Bob Stoops era. Those preceding him are Jonathan Jackson in 2001, Pasha Jackson in 2002, Brian Jackson in 2005, Desmond Jackson in 2007, and Kameel Jackson in 2011.

Pretty crazy for such a common name like Jackson to only show up three times in Sooners commitments since 2005.
