Former Florida International pitcher Shannon Saile will transfer to Oklahoma, sources have confirmed to JWOS. The move is expected to be made official later in the week.

Saile left the FIU program earlier this summer after a pair of seasons in a Panthers uniform. She was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2017 and earned all-conference honors in each of her years as a Panther.

Saile showed out almost immediately after arriving on the scene in Miami as a freshman in 2017. She recorded nineteen victories and held an ERA of 1.38 in her first collegiate season, collecting 234 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .145 batting average en route to helping her program to an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament.

Showing no signs of a sophomore slump, Saile's 2018 resume was again impressive as she racked up another 224 strikeouts and a 1.87 ERA, to go along with fifteen wins that included a shutout victory over Florida in a midweek matchup.

Saile will carry two years of remaining eligibility to her new home. After receiving a partial release from FIU, she is not expected to have to utilize a redshirt season in 2019.

She joins an Oklahoma program that owns three national championships in six years, but will have to retool in the pitching circle next season, following the departures of all-Americans Paige Parker and Paige Lowary after the 2018 campaign.
