This has gone on long enough.

In real news, a young defense had some poor tackling against a huge receiver and a future NFL back in their first road game. Not the performance we wanted but better than the loss last year. It was nice to see some gut check tackling at the end and finally a turnover to seal a win. Great to hear Perkins called out the defense to step up and execute. Someone is trying to be a leader and no players are tuning out Mike. Also nice to see everything put on Kyler in the 4th quarter and he responded as clutch as anyone could have hoped.

I want Haughton to succeed, but he is consistently the guy on D that does not flash. I am not at practice and do not pretend to know if we have a consistently better option, but it isn't pretty so far. Murray, Jackson, Perkins, Broiles, Motley, Buzzy, all have errors but have also had big plays. They also tend to "pull their trigger" and don't look afraid. Haughton is not to blame for all our errors on D or even the majority of them, and poor pass rush explains some of the times he looks bad. I just wish he looked aggressive or had some plays where he showed up winning a 1:1 battle. Or I wish Barnes or someone could be healthy and take his spot.
