Everyone Who Had the Braves in Their Office Pool...

The plate umpires in the Series seemed to have the Braves.

I didn't watch much, because the All Star decision pissed me off. But every time I switched over, one of the Astros hitters was having pitches two inches or more out of the strike zone, called a strike. I understand that those boxes on the screen aren't totally accurate, but we're not talking a little bit. Last night I probably watch 20 pitches by a Braves' pitcher and two of them were blatently out of the zone, called a strike. It's part of the reason I quit watching in four different games. Same thing kept happening.

Maybe the umps were pissed that Houston didn't get banned from the post season because of previous cheating. It was really bad against the Stros best hitters.

Are the failures of your favorite teams and the successes of teams you dislike part of some conspiracy ?
You've made several posts reflecting this theory.

FanGraphs published the computerized umpire report cards. Overall, the Astros had the clear advantage over the course of the series. Every losing team gripes about the home plate umpire but, in this case over six games, the Astro complaints don't hold up. If anything, the Braves had more bad calls go against them than the other way around.
