ESPN is trolling on the sports ticker against OU MBB

After the OU win, the ticker read, "Oklahoma rallies to win with threes." Even though OU lead at halftime and Baylor only tied at 41. Now the ticker reads, "Oklahoma relies on triples to win." Oklahoma dominated the second half after the tie at 41, and led by as much as 22.

Oh yeah, some of those guys got a severe case of the drizzling trots when they HAD to vote OU #1.

The absolute lowest we could be would be number two. KU also has two losses, one of them this week by almost 20 in Stillwater. Villanova is fourth and the Sooners beat them 23 on a neutral site at Pearl Harbor. The lead was double digits the whole second half. I guess one loss Xavier, who is fifth is possible. But their loss was by 31 at Nova. Hard to justify that.

So only the Tar Heels might make a case. They lost in Austin on a disputed bucket at the buzzer, or maybe a hair later than the buzzer.. I figure OU and UNC will split the first place votes and if we're behind them, that won't bother me a bit. I'd love to be a spot or three behind UNC for the next month or two. Or Maryland. Or Michigan State.

This year, especially, being number one isn't necessarily a blessing. But being a one or two seed is just fine.
