*** We will start with Elite 2025 OL Michael Fasusi.

I spoke to a source about Fasusi this past week and that source felt things are trending well for OU, stating, “He always has Jayden [Hardy] in his ear constantly,” the source noted. “Michael also is constantly talking with OU QB commit Kevin Sperry, and those two have bonded quite well.”

The source also talked about upcoming visits for the Rivals100 OL, and said, “The Sooners Under the Stars event is on the 26th, but [Michael] Fasusi is having to (visit OU) on the 25th to fit some other places in that week right now,” the source said. “Sperry will be in Norman waiting on him and to ‘host’ Fasusi while he’s on his unofficial with (the Sooners).”

Most everyone I talk with seems to feel the Sooners are at or near the top with Fasusi. Still, it sounds like the OL will be taking some time to decide down the line, so don’t expect much until later in the winter or next spring/summer regarding a final decision.

*** 2024 four-star DE Zina Umeozulu is a name Sooners fans might want to get to know a bit.

Why you ask?

Well, sources tell OUinsider that the four-star is “likely to be at the Party in the Palace.”

Another source told OUinsider, “Texas will always be there in this recruitment,” the source said. “But OU and A&M are bigger players than people give them credit for right now. It’s weird that it’s just a foregone conclusion that Zu ends up in Austin when his sister went to a different school, Zeta is at Texas and Zu has a chance to do what he wants as well. I don’t think anyone is pushing him anywhere either. It’s his decision.”

Now, even with it being the four-star Allen (TX) decision in the end, it’s also a chance to play alongside his older brother in college, and that isn’t to be overlooked either. So, with that in mind, it’s obvious Miguel Chavis and the Sooners will have to continue to push hard there.

As far as a timeline for a final decision, it sounds like that could be somewhere around the month of September for now. However, we have seen the PATP be a deal breaker for several top guys before, so IF Umeozulu does in fact make it Norman this coming weekend, we will at least have to watch and see if Chavis can pull another rabbit out of the hat.

I hope to have more on the four-star Edge, but with his relationship with several OU targets and commits, it seems OU has at least a puncher’s chance here and more than some think in other markets.

Will OU be able to pull another shocker off — at least for a few months they did — with Umeozulu? Something to watch closely over the next several months for sure.
