I’m sure some of you all have seen some photos floating around social media and have noticed that OU isn’t on the field for their cars and big cookout this year.

Sources told OUinsider that “Brent Venables wants to be different and show something others can’t. He wants there to be unique photo-ops and BV wants players and their families to see how diverse the University of Oklahoma truly is and why it can’t be replicated. He wants the memories to be long lasting and stay in their minds.”

With that in mind, sources also told OUinsider a few weeks ago that the plan was to hold the two big visit weekends at Toby Keith’s hanger, where there is a tennis court, basketball gym, and his two private jets will be on full display (for players and their families to tour and walk through), along with an assortment of luxury cars as usual.

Another different event for the visitors this OV season is the Sunday morning breakfast. It will be held in the Sam Noble Museum, where there is historical pieces and dinosaur bones on display. I’m told their meeting room is more adequate in size for the events, so OU was really excited to have the visiting players and their families see the museum and be able to take photos around the exhibits.

Obviously, Parker and I will have more on the official visitors tomorrow afternoon and evening, but I wanted to get this little tidbit up for you all first.

Stay tuned and have a blessed night.
