Doucet is a Sooner

No doubt there will be concern by some here about being only a 2-star player, but I know the OU coaches see a good player here. He seems to be a good all around linebacker who can cover the run and the pass and has an aptitude for pressuring quarterbacks in the Eric Striker way.
I do have to wonder if this addition has anything to do with Caleb Kelly's recruitment. My hope is that it's only in addition to Kelly.

Well that's the thing, when news of this offer went out not long ago, it was absolutely timed with Kelly also seemingly warming up to ND out of nowhere. Doucet was a late, later offer. So he is either a plan B, or plan C type guy. But lets hope the kid comes in and surprises everyone.

Nope, glad to have him.
Really, you never know when these guys sign up for us how they'll do.
Which one will embrace the opportunity of playing for the Sooners? A certain percent will achieve goals beyond their resume.

That's the fun of it all.
Seeing some kid be all he can be in the Crimson and Cream.

That never gets old.

If you look at Doucet's video, and you saw him wearing crimson number 19, you might think you were watching a version of Eric Striker. He is a little small, which is likely why he's a two star. But he is really quick. Could be a little stronger maybe.

I'll tell you who he reminds me of, as I watch how he was lined up in juco was Brandon Shelby, and OU DB who mostly played around the LOS in nickel and dime packages, rushed the passer some, and had to make tackles in the run game. But Doucet's skill set looks exactly like Striker.

He can play, or we wouldn't have offered him.

Marshall was a JC transfer and wanna say Calmus or Lehman was "only" a 3-star. A good coach can make a good player...great. Hope this kid makes it....love humble 2-star players.

I don't know that Calmus was being recruited at the time that star ratings were very well known. Lehman was a lot higher rated by OU coaches, especially Venebles, than by websites. But when he ran 4.4 on back to back attempts at a Sooner summer camp, he became a four star in Brent's mind. At least.

Thing about Lehman is OU saw his speed and potential and offered him on the spot that summer. Lehman was never a plan B or plan C type guy late in the recruiting process.

K2C I think does make a good point about JUCOs. You usually don't see many rated extremely highly as far as stars.
