They had over 100 yards in penalties. Texas kept getting offensive pass interference called on them and texas had penalties at key times in the game.
Maryland last season led the nation in rushing yards given up and today texas had under 100 yards rushing.

Frankly texass sucks

Today was the first time in Maryland football history they have beaten a top 25 team in their opening game

I have no idea. I had other things to do than watch a Texas game. Lol

I will say this about Maryland though...this is the first or second year for Durkin. He had a pretty solid career as an assistant, and he was on my list of possible guys to replace Stoops if he was available when Stoops decided to hang it up. Guy should be a solid head coach and he definitely had Maryland ready to play today.

What you saw from Texas today is, IMO, the mentality, lack of discipline, etc. re-emerging after Strong tried to rid the program of those who brought that crap to the team.

Texas will get better in future years under Herman but they will be the slime of the earth (worse then before) and more classless than they have ever been...

SSDD with Shorthorns but under 100 yards rushing against Terps is problematic. Old Hermie was sure going to his water bottle a lot during the post game presser...almost shaking n crying ....the sensitive fella. Can't put lipstick on a pig.

I never ever want Texas to win. It seems the more beat down they are coming into the RRR the better they play OU on both sides of the ball (2015!). Their redemption lies in defeating our Sooners. I do not bask in their misery until after the RRR.

I watched several games over this weekend and saw many acts of undisciplined behavior and execution. (Texas, of course, was the leading example).
I understand things like motion infractions, off sides, pass interference, etc. are part of the game...but it seems that in too many cases coaches aren't teaching players to keep their composure and to stay away from silly celebration penalties.
A Michigan receiver made a clutch catch for a first down and decided to spin the ball on the ground....which wiped out the play. How could he not know this was a no-no ?
In some cases, an official will have an unnecessarily low tolerance for even a slight expression of excitement by a player, so why tempt such a reaction ?

I always like to compare a new coach's first few games to Coach Stoops first few games in '99. With Stoops, you could see an immediate improvement on both sides of the ball. Herman? No improvement at all that I could see.

They're getting better at losing. Now that's the kind of improvement I like to see.
