Did anyone else see that Cam Ward opted out at halftime yesterday vs Iowa St?

May have happened before but can't recall ever hearing of a player playing a half of a Bowl Game then opting out for the 2nd half.
Are they intentionally trying to ruin the game they supposedly love so much?

Thanks. Makes more sense I guess. Didn't watch the game and heard it earlier that he Opted out at halftime but didn't see a reason why.

Yet another sign of the all-about-me mentality in sports today.
I despise what CFB has become and OU’s decline worsens my feelings.

Pretty much my thoughts too. I gotta get my record to hell with helping my team win.
Its like they are intentionally trying to destroy a game they claim to love.
It is my understanding that he and Mario decided to do this before the game was played, likely planned it weeks in advance. If I were the HC I would not agree to that and I would have started the back up. In my opinion he and the HC quit on their team.
If he had told Cam no that he isn't going to allow that he would have likely faked an injury after he got the record. A no win situation.
